Captain Raleigh Croshaw, a member of the Virginia Company, emigrated from his native England to Virginia in the Second Supply, arriving in the latter part of September, 1608. He survived the "starving time" and the Indian Massacre of 1622/23, and served as Burgess from Elizabeth City in 1623/24. He died early in 1625, and an inventory of his estate was ordered by the court in March. Captain Francis West had been the administrator of his estate and there was no mention of his widow or orphans in the settlement, thus it is believed they were in England.
The Raleigh Croshaw file includes information on 4,682 individuals with 922 different surnames.
It covers sixteen generations, with the earliest known birth occurring in ca 1611.
There are 45,950 text records from various sources.
