     Nicholas Martiau Order Form

Nicholas Martiau, a native of Belgium, was among the few French Walloons who actually settled in Virginia after applying to the London Company in 1621 to settle in the colony. Most who had applied settled in New York, the Dutch having offered them better terms. Upon arrival in Virginia on the Francis Bonadventure, he settled in what was then Charles River County, but later renamed York County. He died in Yorktown in 1657, leaving issue.

The Nicholas Martiau file includes information on 18,596 descendants with 2589 different surnames. It covers seventeen generations, with the earliest birth occurring in 1591. There are 158,278 text records from various sources. To order your copy, today, send check or money order (include $2.00 shipping cost for the first CD, $1.00 for each additional CD.
